Credits and billing
Understand the quote, actual deductions, failed jobs, and account limits.

Quote before generating
Call memm_quote_generation_cost with the exact model, option, mode, and reference count you intend to use. Present the cost to the user and wait for approval. Pass the returned confirm_credit_cost to memm_generate. A mismatch is rejected.
Current generation tools use display credits, which may include half credits. The deprecated memm_generate_design uses internal units instead; do not mix its amounts with the current tools.
Price versus deduction
nominalCredits is the normal listed price. creditsToDeduct in a quote describes the expected deduction. creditsCharged in the submission describes the deduction for that submission. Check billingMode as well.
An owner account with unlimited billing can have a nominal price while its deduction is zero. This does not make the external model provider free. A duplicate submission using the same retry key can also report zero newly charged credits because the existing job is being reused.
Failures and retries
Failed generation jobs are handled by Memm’s refund process. Check the existing job’s final state before retrying. A timeout does not prove that generation failed: the provider may still be working.
Keep the same idempotency_key when retrying the same submission. Use a new key only when intentionally requesting a new result, after reviewing its cost. Only waiting video jobs can be cancelled with memm_cancel_job; started jobs cannot be cancelled with that tool.
Plans and limits
Use Pricing for current membership prices and memm_get_credits for your account’s balance and allowances. Free inspection tools do not use generation credits, but plan access and request limits still apply.
For a billing question, share the job ID, submission time, and quoted settings with support. Never share an API key.
